How to submit ASHA's Compliance Form

Done with your 30 hours? Tell ASHA with the Certification Maintenance Compliance Form. It is due by December 31 of the year your interval ends, and you send it online in My Account.

When it is due and how to send it in My Account.

Last checked Oct 21 to 30, 2026.

This page is our summary of ASHA's rules. Each section links to ASHA's exact wording.

Find courses by need

Seventeen states have their own page so far. For the rest, the picker takes you to all courses. Check with your state board before you count a course.

When it is due

ASHA says the form is due on or before December 31 of the year your interval ends. You can send it sooner, any time after your hours are done. ASHA on the form.

Interval ends Dec 31, 2026? Then your form is due by Dec 31, 2026.

Not sure when your interval ends? Log in to My Account on asha.org and select the "Certification" link, or call the ASHA Action Center at 800-498-2071. ASHA on intervals.

What you need before you send it

30 hours of professional development in your 3-year interval. That includes 1 hour in ethics (Content Area 1) and 2 hours in cultural responsiveness, self-reflection or collaboration (Content Area 2). ASHA's exact wording.

One course covers both areas? ASHA lets you split its time between them, but you can't count the same time twice.

A course counts on the day you finish it, not the day you start. Hours past 30 don't carry into your next interval. ASHA on PDHs.

How to submit it

  1. Log in to My Account on asha.org.
  2. Under your account number, find the section called "Certification and Supervision."
  3. Select the link for your current interval. It names your years and says "Submit your Compliance Form."
  4. On the overview page, select "Submit My Compliance Form."
  5. Read the statements, check "I AGREE" and type your electronic signature. Select "Submit your Compliance Form," then "Yes, submit to ASHA."

Next you see a confirmation page. It says ASHA has your form and gives the dates of your next interval. If you are picked for an audit, ASHA tells you then and sends instructions.

See "How to Maintain ASHA Certification (Upcoming Interval)" instead of the submit link? ASHA says that means your requirements are complete and you have nothing else to do. ASHA's steps.

What to keep

You don't send certificates with the form. ASHA asks for them only if you are picked for an audit.

Keep a certificate for every course anyway. ASHA says each one should show your name, the course title, the provider, the date you finished and the hours.

Provider gave you no certificate? ASHA has a Verification of Attendance Form you can fill in yourself. ASHA on records.

Want a running list of your hours? See the tracker preview.

If you use ASHA's CE Registry

The CE Registry is optional. ASHA says you don't have to join it or earn ASHA CEUs to keep your CCC. It costs $28 a year for ASHA members and $38 for nonmembers. ASHA on the CE Registry.

What the Registry does, in ASHA's wording: "The Registry will submit your compliance form to ASHA Certification when you earn 3.0 ASHA CEUs (equivalent to 30 professional development hours) during your 3-year maintenance interval and fulfill the ASHA Certification professional development requirements." ASHA on using the Registry.

Picked for an audit? Your Registry transcript is your proof, so you don't send course records. ASHA's Registry FAQs.

Only courses that offer ASHA CEUs show on that transcript. Other courses can still count toward your 30 hours. For those, you keep the certificates yourself.

Miss December 31?

ASHA changes your status to Not Current on April 1. You then have until August 31 to finish and report with no break in your certification. See what Not Current means.

Still short as the deadline gets close? ASHA takes extension requests from December 1. See how ASHA extensions work.

About ableU rows. Free to take. If you want ableU to report it to ASHA for you, ASHA charges a Registry fee. You can skip that. Keep your certificate. The hours still count, and you claim them on ASHA's Certification Maintenance Compliance Form.
