How to keep your ASHA CCC

Thirty hours every three years, three of them in specific areas, and a form due by December 31 of your last year. Here's the whole thing on one page with free courses for each part.

Find courses by need

Sixteen states have their own page so far. For the rest, the picker takes you to all courses. Check with your state board before you count a course.

The requirements

To keep the CCC-SLP you earn 30 professional development hours in each 3-year interval, follow the ASHA Code of Ethics, and pay annual dues or the certification fee. ASHA's overview.

Of the 30, 1 hour has to be ethics and 2 hours have to be in culturally responsive care, self-reflection, or collaboration. ASHA clarified that wording starting January 1, 2026. See our free ethics and cultural responsiveness lists.

If you supervise students or mentor a CF, there's a separate one-time 2-hour supervision requirement. Free supervision courses.

The deadline

Submit your Compliance Form any time after you hit 30 hours, and no later than December 31 of the final year of your interval. If you use the ASHA CE Registry and all 30 hours are on it, the form is submitted for you. How to submit.

Miss it and your status changes to "Not Current" on April 1. You then have until August 31 to finish and report before you'd have to apply for reinstatement. ASHA on Not Current status.

Your state license is separate

Your state board sets its own CE rules and dates, and they don't always line up with your ASHA interval. North Carolina lets you sync your cycle with ASHA once, by written request to the board. For the rest, check your state page below.
