Details
The board accepts hours from board-approved providers, accredited colleges, and providers approved by ASHA, AAA or the CMA continuing medical education program. That means ASHA-approved free courses can count.
Up to 12 hours can be self-study (6 at first renewal). Up to 6 hours can be indirect client care, such as legal or ethics topics (3 at first renewal).
Your license renews every 2 years on the last day of your birth month.
You don't send certificates in. Renewing is your statement that you did the hours. Keep records for at least two years after you renew.
California accepts courses from ASHA-approved providers, so the free courses below can count, within the limits above.
