Licenses expire July 31 of even-numbered years. The next date is July 31, 2028.
Your first biennium is exempt, except for the 2 child abuse hours.
The board won't renew your license until the current period's hours are done, unless you've been granted a waiver.
Taking substantially the same program twice in one cycle only counts once.
Programs approved or sponsored by ASHA are approved under 49 Pa. Code 45.505.
For the 2 child abuse hours, the University of Pittsburgh Child Welfare Resource Center offers a free 3-hour course that is on the DHS approved list. Credits are reported to PALS for you.
Pennsylvania accepts courses from ASHA-approved providers, so the free courses below can count, within the limits above.
