ASHA Not Current status, in plain words
Miss an ASHA deadline for hours, reporting or dues, and your status turns Not Current on April 1. You have until August 31 to fix it with no break.

What Not Current means
On April 1 each year, ASHA changes the status of certificate holders who missed a deadline. That can be a deadline for earning your hours, for reporting them, or for paying annual dues or fees. ASHA on Not Current status.
While you are Not Current, you can't use the CCC credential. ASHA lists your status in public as "CCC Not Current."
If you supervise, this reaches other people too. While you are Not Current, student clinical hours earned under you, and any part of a Clinical Fellowship done with you as mentor, can't be used toward ASHA certification. Fix it by August 31 and ASHA accepts all of those hours.
How to fix it by August 31
- Finish the hours you are missing. Your 30 hours include 1 hour in ethics and 2 hours in cultural responsiveness, self-reflection or collaboration (ASHA's Content Area 2).
- Send the Compliance Form. You send it online in My Account on asha.org. ASHA on the form.
- Send a Record Keeping Form, plus any audit materials ASHA asks for.
- Pay any dues or fees you still owe.
Only behind on dues? Pay them by August 31.
Fix everything by August 31 and ASHA says there is no break in your certification history, and your supervision and mentor hours are accepted. Miss it and you have to meet ASHA's reinstatement requirements to get your CCC back.
Where you might be right now
ASHA gives one example on its page. People who did not earn at least 30 hours between Jan 1, 2023 and Dec 31, 2025 had until August 31, 2026 to earn and report them. That date has passed. If that was you, start with ASHA's Not Current page.
